Ukrainian forces struck Russia's Tuapse oil refinery three times in two weeks in mid-to-late April, having damaged ~20% of Russia's refining capacity since early 2024.

Ukrainian forces struck the Tuapse oil refinery on Russia's Black Sea coast three times in under two weeks — on April 16, April 20, and again shortly after — causing multi-day fires, toxic smoke, and a "black rain" phenomenon as soot-laden water fell on surrounding towns.

Analysts estimate Ukrainian drone strikes have damaged or destroyed about 20% of Russia's refining capacity since early 2024. In April alone, Russia was forced to cut oil production by roughly 300,000–400,000 barrels per day — the sharpest monthly drop in about six years.

On the front lines, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck Iskander missile systems, radar stations, ammunition depots, and drone command centers during the night of May 2. Over the past week, Russia deployed approximately 1,600 attack drones, 1,100 guided bombs, and 3 missiles against Ukraine.
